Our Processes

Sheet Metal Cutting

Cutting is typically step 1 in sheet metal manufacturing. You correctly assumed that cutting is just that, the process of cutting large, rectangular sheets of metal into smaller pieces per our client’s design. The term cutting is used generically, and could include mechanical cutting or higher-precision sheet metal laser cutting using our Amada Ensis 3015 , Amada Pulsar A2000, or possibly both.

Sheet Metal Bending

Once sheet metal is cut to specification it can move to bending. At this station a press brake, like our Amada HD8025NT , would be used to mechanically shape the metal by applying up to 88 tons of force.

Sheet Metal Deburring

Sheet metal deburring is an important process in metal fabrication that involves removing sharp edges and burrs from the surface of metal parts. These sharp edges and burrs can be a result of cutting, drilling, or stamping processes. Left unattended, they can pose a safety hazard to workers and cause damage to equipment. Deburring also helps to improve the overall appearance of the metal parts and provides a smooth surface for further processing.

Welding Sheet Metal

Welding is typically the final stage of creating a component. In its purest form, welding is the process of joining one or more pieces of metal together to create a single part by using precisely directed heat. There are many types of welding including MIG, TIG, and Stick welding. The welding technique used is determined by the project’s specifications as there is no single best type, only what is right for the project. During our Value Engineering process we’ll explore different welding methods and will make a recommendation for which to use.
